Introduction: In this blog, we’ll cover how to configure the PowerApps Portal from blank or from the existing template.
What is PowerApps Portal?
PowerApps portal is an external-facing website that can be accessed by users outside the organization. It provides the capability to create and view data in the Common Data Service(Microsoft Dataverse). It also provides record-level security.
Steps to configure blank Portal:
- Login to PowerApps (https://make.powerapps.com/)
- Select the environment in which you want to configure the portal

- Go to “+Create” and select Portal from blank

- Enter Name and Address of the Portal and click on Create.

- Go to Apps and you can see your portal is configuring in the background.

Steps to configure Portal with Template:
If you select an environment that contains customer engagement apps (Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Dynamics 365 Field Service, Dynamics 365 Marketing, or Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation), you can configure the portal from the template.
- Login to PowerApps (https://make.powerapps.com/)
- Select the environment in which you want to configure the portal
- Go to “+Create” and select the template based on your requirement.
- Customer self-service portal
- Partner portal
- Employee self-service portal
- Community portal
- Customer Portal

- For Demo, I have selected Customer self-service Portal
- Enter Name and Address of the Portal and click on Create.

- Go to Apps and you can see your portal is configuring in the background.
- Once it is done you can see your portal and Portal Management app(Model-driven app)

Click on the portal to view the website
